Opti-Script hires only employees (no independent contractors) with established schedules, required criminal background checks, and paid training and initial 100% QA support.
Full-Time or Part-Time?
Full-time is 36 to 40 hours per week. Part-time is 20 to 25 hours per week.
First shift: 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Second shift: 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Third shift: 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Split shifts are available. Scheduling is somewhat flexible (based on account) and coordinated with the transcription manager. All positions are home-based employee opportunities with taxes deducted as required.
Acute care – Minimum of 3 years’ acute care experience required, including H&Ps, consultations, operative reports, and discharge summaries
Multispecialty Clinic – Minimum of 3 years’ clinic transcription (at least 5 specialties)
All necessary equipment is provided by Opti-Script, including CPU, monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, and foot pedal. A KVM switch is available for MTs preferring to use their own monitor and peripherals.
DSL or cable preferred. Satellite connectivity is acceptable but not preferred, and this may be limited by account and platform.
Our team of technical experts is available 24/7 to assist employees scheduled for work.
Pay is based on a 65-character virtual line and is calculated based on years of experience, account complexity, need for QA support, technology employed, and shift. RMT and CMT credentials are compensated at a premium line rate, and shift differential is paid for 2nd and 3rd shifts. Premium line rate is paid for scheduled weekend work.
Paychecks are deposited biweekly.
For full-time employees, medical, dental, vision and life insurance are offered as well as supplemental insurance, credit union membership, EAP, and Christmas Club participation. Part-time employees are eligible to participate in limited benefits, based on length of service. Benefits are effective on the first day of the month following successful completion of the probationary period (90 days).
Paid Time Off?
PTO accrues from 36 to 108 hours per year for full-time employees, based on tenure. Opti-Script observes 6 paid holidays.
Employees are encouraged to attain their RMT or CMT, and exam cost is reimbursed after successful completion of the probationary period and completion of the exam. CMT prep classes as well as other opportunities for specialized training are provided for interested participants. Opportunities for advancement and open positions are typically communicated internally, and ongoing discussion of career goals is encouraged.
