Employment at Opti-Script

1. Full-Time or Part-Time?  Full-time commitment is 36 to 40 hours per week.  Part-time commitment is 20 to 35 hours per week.
 
  • First shift  - 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. 
  • Second shift - 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Third shift  - 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.  
  Split shifts are available.  Scheduling is flexible and coordinated with the unit manager. 
All positions are home-based employee opportunities, and taxes are deducted as required. 
     
2. Experience required?
 
  • Acute care - Minimum of 3 years’ acute care (hospital) transcription including H&Ps, consultations, operative reports, and discharge summaries for acute care accounts. 
  • Multispecialty clinic - Minimum of 3 years’ multispecialty clinic transcription (minimum of 5 specialties).
     
3. Equipment?  All necessary equipment is provided at no charge, including CPU, monitor, keyboard, mouse, headphones, and foot pedal.  A KVM switch is an option for MTs who prefer to use their own monitor and other peripherals. 
     
4. Internet connectivity requirements? DSL or cable is preferred.  Satellite connectivity is acceptable but not preferred. 
     
5. Technical Support?  Our team of technical experts is available 24/7 to assist employees.
     
6. Compensation?  Pay is based on a 65-character line and is calculated based on years of transcription experience, account, credentials, and shift.  RMT and CMT credentials are compensated at a premium line rate, and shift differential is paid for 2nd and 3rd shifts. Premium line rate is also paid for scheduled weekend work. 
     
7. Paychecks?  Are direct deposited biweekly.
     
8. Benefits?  For a full-time commitment, medical, dental, vision and life insurance are offered.  Flexible spending account, 401K, supplemental insurance, and credit union membership are available.   Part-time employees are eligible to participate in the 401K plan and supplemental insurance. 
     
9. Paid Time Off?  PTO accrues at 40 hours for the first year up to 120 hours per year, based on tenure for full-time employees. 
     
10. Professional Growth?  MTs are encouraged to attain their RMT or CMT credentials.  Exam cost is reimbursed after successful completion of the probationary period and passing the exam.  Educational webinars are held periodically.  A 13-week CMT prep class is offered twice a year.  We promote from within our team of MTs first and encourage you to discuss your career goals with us.
